A local church along with local businesses and volunteers supported an after school program for African American children. They gave away 50 backpacks, school supplies, and bags of fruit and vegetables to benefit families in the Mafanikio Academic Coaching Program. Held at Richmond’s Nystrom Elementary, the program focuses on helping students particularly with their reading and math.
Among the sponsors were Green Remedy. Volunteers provided families with bags of fruit and vegetables in an effort to feed them during difficult times.
